NANOFER STAR: air-stable nZVI powder

NANOFER STAR is NEW AIR-STABLE nZVI powder, consisting of Fe(0) surface stabilized nanoparticles, which has been developed in collaboration with RCPTM.

The product is:

  • Surface stabilized
  • Transportable
  • Air-stable
  • Reactive

meaning it is much easier and more safe to store, transport, handle and process comparing to non-stabilized nZVI NANOFER 25P, but still keeping extreme reactivity with reducible pollutants in water environment.

NANOFER STAR is dedicated for direct application as well as for preparation of slurries applied for in-situ groundwater remediation and other applications.

The product is already available for laboratory experiments as well as for large-scale applications.

NANOFER STAR ADVANTAGES:

  • Stabilization by thin anorganic surface layer protects nZVI against rapid oxidation if contact with air (no pyrophoric properties, easy handling, much lower packaging and transportation costs comparing to NANOFER 25P).
  • NANOFER STAR keeps highest reactivity in water in spite of surface stabilization (see graph below).
  • Shipping cost savings up to 80%: comparing to water slurry products (composed by 20% of nanoparticles and 80% of water) only reactive material is transported.
  • Practically unlimited storage time in closed packaging.
